In 2012 Caws Cenarth celebrates 25 years of exceptional cheese-making. The business was started by Gwynfor and Thelma Adams in response to difficult conditions in the agricultural industry as dairy farmers were forced to cope with the introduction of Milk Quotas - making cheese from the milk produced by their herd was a way of ensuring that they would not go above their allocated quota of milk.
But the venture was a huge success and by today, Caws Cenarth is run by their son, Carwyn, who is just as passionate about the enterprise and about making great Welsh cheese as his parents were. Over the years, Caws Cenarth cheese has been sold to and served in some of the top shops and eateries in the country and the products have also won numerous awards, including Supreme Champion at the British Cheese Awards with their newest creation, Golden Cenarth.
